Multisite relaunch with TYPO3

As a joint project with our partner agency unger+ kreative strategen, we delivered a website relaunch for Bauwirtschaft BW. unger+ kreative strategen created a custom screen design, which we developed on the basis of TYPO3.

The construction industry creates housing, connects people, secures utility networks, contributes to climate protection, provides jobs, trains apprentices, and is competent and capable. Behind it stands a strong state-wide industry association: Bauwirtschaft Baden-Württemberg, with around 1,600 members – small and mid-sized construction trade businesses as well as large construction industry companies.

Fokus

The focus was on developing a company database. It is updated nightly and contains a large number of member businesses, which are fed into the system via an import. To let users filter businesses with a radius search, we determined the geodata of each business: based on its address, geocoordinates (longitude, latitude) were resolved via an external API. The distance could then be calculated from the user's input and the stored coordinates.

The association wanted a comprehensive overhaul of the website to improve the user experience and strengthen the brand presence. In addition, the new website was to offer multisite functionality to present various subsites. Continuous further development was also planned from the start, to keep adapting the website to new requirements.
