WordPress website with custom wine management

Together with ADDA Studio Stuttgart, aceArt built a WordPress website for the Knauß winery in Weinstadt-Stümpfelbach — fully responsive, clearly structured and with backend maintenance the team can handle on its own. At the centre are the wines, the vineyard sites and the story of the family business.

The site covers the entire public presence: from the multilingual brand appearance through an interactive SVG vineyard map and events to the integration with the external online shop at shop.weingut-knauss.com. Since the launch in April 2020 we have accompanied the project with updates and continuous further development.

Fokus

A dedicated wine CPT plugin. At the core of the project is a WordPress plugin developed specifically for the winery: a custom post type "wine" with clearly structured custom fields (variety, vintage, site, classification, taste, …) and its own shortcode and template outputs in the frontend. Every wine presentation stays visually consistent, and the team can create and maintain new wines themselves, without anyone touching code or templates.

Interactive SVG vineyard map

The vineyard page features a hand-drawn SVG map showing the vineyards around Weinstadt-Stümpfelbach — Sonnenberg, Nonnenberg, Altenberg and more. The map is interactive and leads from the overview to each site's detail page.

Divi as page builder for content pages

For content pages we rely on the Divi page builder: the team can edit copy directly in the frontend, swap images via drag-and-drop and rearrange modules — no training in backend editors required. The brand colour palette and typography remain binding through a central theme setup.

In addition, the site was rolled out multilingually (German / English) and connected to the external online shop and the newsletter funnel.
