Local SEO
People searching regionally decide fast. The call, the directions, the appointment request are only a click away. Local SEO makes sure your company shows up in exactly that moment. We get you into local search, onto the map and into the recommendations.
Why local search works differently
For search queries with a regional angle ("web agency Stuttgart", "tax advisor near me"), Google shows the local pack alongside the classic results: the map view with three highlighted companies. Whoever stands there receives a disproportionate share of clicks and calls. The ranking factors differ markedly from classic web search: proximity to the search location, the business profile's relevance and its prominence count strongest here.
Concretely that means: even with a perfectly optimised website you can be invisible in the local pack if your business profile is neglected, and just as much the other way round. The two belong together.
Google Business Profile, your most important local asset
The Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is the foundation of all local visibility. In practice we frequently see half-maintained profiles: outdated opening hours, missing categories, no photos, unanswered reviews. Every one of these details costs visibility and trust.
What profile care includes
- Complete master data: categories, services, opening hours, attributes. The more complete the profile, the better Google can place it
- Consistent NAP data: name, address and phone number identical everywhere — on the website, in the profile and in directories
- Current photos and posts: a well-kept profile signals an active company, to Google and customers alike
- Review management: actively asking for reviews and answering every one, including and especially the critical ones
Local signals on your website
The website delivers the second half of local visibility, with content and markup that technically substantiate the regional connection:
- LocalBusiness markup: structured data with address, opening hours and geodata confirming machine-readably to Google where you operate
- Regional landing pages with substance: real content for real locations or service areas. No automatically generated city pages that can be penalised as doorway pages
- Embedded directions and contact options: a map, directions, a clickable phone number. What local visitors look for belongs prominently on the page
- Locally relevant content: references from the region, regional engagement, industry context — content substantiating your local roots
Honestly: who local SEO pays off for
Local SEO isn't a mandatory programme for every website. If you sell online across Germany, the local pack brings you little — then on-page optimisation and PageSpeed are the better levers. If, on the other hand, you live off regional custom — as a service provider, practice, law firm, trade business or shop — local SEO belongs right at the top of the list. Which category your venture falls into, we clarify in the initial consultation.
