On-Page Optimisation
On-page optimisation covers everything on your website itself that decides rankings, from metadata via content structures to internal linking. The part of SEO you have entirely in your own hands. We make sure it's done right.
Metadata that earns clicks
Title tags and meta descriptions are your website's shop window in the search results: they help decide the position and above all whether someone clicks. In practice we almost always find room for improvement here: automatically generated titles, duplicated descriptions, truncated copy or pages entirely without meta information.
- Title tags: the most important keyword up front, the brand at the back, the length within the visible range, individual per page instead of by rote
- Meta descriptions: no direct ranking factor, but the lever for the click-through rate. Worded like a good teaser, not like a keyword container
- The heading hierarchy: one H1 per page, a logically structured H2/H3 tree. Good for readers, search engines and screen readers alike
Content structure and search intent
Good SEO content answers the question behind the search term. Whoever searches for "optimise page speed" wants to know how it's done. Whoever searches for "page speed agency" wants to hire someone. Both queries deserve their own pages with different content.
That's why on-page work with us begins with the mapping: which page should rank for which terms? Only when that's clear does the detail work on copy, structures and linking pay off. That way we also avoid the most common structural problem of grown websites: several pages competing internally for the same keyword.
Internal linking, the underestimated lever
Internal links steer how ranking signals flow through your website and which pages Google classifies as important. A well-thought-out internal linking structure is often more effective than any external link, and entirely in your hands.
- Topic clusters: related pages link to each other, strengthening the shared topic — like the hub and topic pages on this website
- Descriptive link texts: "More on PageSpeed optimisation" instead of "Click here". The link text tells search engines what the destination page is about
- Tracking down orphaned pages: content without internal links is crawled worse and rated weaker. We find and integrate it
- Shortening click paths: important pages should be reachable from the homepage in a few clicks, not hidden on level six
Structured data and clean markup
With Schema.org markup you make explicitly clear to search engines what a page contains: FAQ annotations can bring extra lines in the search result, breadcrumb and organisation markup create context. And since AI search systems evaluate content by machine, structured markup pays in twice. It makes your content more quotable for ChatGPT and AI Overviews too.
As a developer team we implement markup directly in the code: valid, complete and where it fits the content. No plugin patchwork that breaks with every update.
