WordPress Agency Ulm

Around 90 kilometres separate Ulm from our office in Stuttgart-Feuerbach, by car a good hour along the A8. For a WordPress project that means we do the kickoff and the editorial training on site in Ulm or Neu-Ulm, and everything else runs remotely. The drive is worth it for half a day, not for half an hour.

WordPress from Stuttgart, for Ulm and Neu-Ulm

Ulm is a city of science on the Danube, shaped by its university, medical technology and commercial vehicle engineering. The texts that end up on websites like these almost always come from specialists, and almost never from someone who enjoys maintaining a website. An application note, a data sheet, the announcement of an event: whoever knows the subject wrote it. The real detour starts afterwards, when the page can only be changed through the agency.

So we build the site in a way that removes that detour. Specialists get an account that shows only what they need, plus a preview and a draft state in which nothing is public yet. Anyone who otherwise never touches the backend should manage after a five minute walkthrough. We have no office in Ulm and we do not pretend to. What we offer are named contacts, a ticket system with a visible state and the willingness to drive the hour for a training session.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have an office in Ulm?
We have no office on the Danube, our only location is Stuttgart-Feuerbach. For Ulm and Neu-Ulm that means we come for the kickoff, the training and the handover, and the rest runs through video calls and tickets.
Can several people maintain content at the same time?
Yes, with graded roles. One person may write, another may publish, a third looks after the technical side. Anyone who only posts something now and then sees a backend without the menus that are none of their business. That saves more questions than any manual.
We need the site in German and English. Does WordPress handle that?
Yes, through an extension that links both versions to each other. The more important question sits behind it: who writes the English version, and what should happen when it is missing. We settle that before the build, because changing either one later costs real effort.
How many plugins do you install?
As few as possible. Every additional plugin is one more thing that has to be updated and that can cause trouble during an update. Whatever belongs to the core of your site we would rather write ourselves and ship as a separate extension, so that a change of theme does not take it down with it.
